The UAE Vs Spain

Nearly every country in the world has a football team, and the UAE and Spain are no exception. I’d like to show and point out the similarities and differences between the two teams, and tell you which of them I would prefer to watch.

FIFA is an international body for regulating football, and like Spain the UAE also is a part of it.
They both have the same amount of players and both obey and follow the same rules and regulations.
Nevertheless, there are a lot of differences between them. First of all, the teams performance and level in expertise due to their trainings and practices while the UAE mostly plays local teams, Spain plays with many teams around the world.
It is said that Spain is a better team. Over looking that, I still would prefer to watch the UAE play. There are many reasons for this but the most important reason is that to see the UAEs great potential and how it evolves and gets better.
I mostly enjoy watching the UAE soccer teams because I live here and I am an Emirati.
It is thrilling to see emerging skills of the local players.
Spain on the other hand is a strong team and preferred to be watched with other teams of its level and skills.

In conclusion, I enjoy watching both teams but I personally prefer to watch the UAE team because to me I see that more thrilling and intertaning.

Reflection 4

In writing procedure essays the two most important things are:1) to use the imperative form, for example: do this, do that, don't do this.. Sometimes we were given flow charts with the -ing form which must be changed.2) to use linking words like: first, secondly, then, next, after that, finally. You should divide the essays into three paragraphs, the introduction, the main paragraph and the conclusion. The essay should be around 150 – 160 words.

Reflection 3

When writing a process essay you should always put in mind that it should be done in the passive voice, which is a very common mistake with students.
When starting the essay, you should start it with a simple paragraph and show what will be discussed.
You should follow the chart and connect the sentences, Try not to sound boring is it is always better to add some new vocabulary.
You should also use: first, secondly, next, after that, finally.
And don’t forget to add a simple conclusion to wrap the text together.

Reflection 2

I learnt how to write narrative essays:
1- you should use the past continuous in your sentences.
2- We use the simple past for the main form and sentence.
3- Sometimes we use the past perfect to describe two actions which happened in the past.

Reflection

Compare & contrast essays should consist of:
(a)An introduction saying which two things are going to be compared .
(b) A paragraph which talks about the common and similar things and the good point of view.
(c) A paragraph discussing the differences between them and how they are not similar.
(d) The conclusion which mainly states your opinion and which you prefer; and the reasons why you prefer it.

Comparing between simplicity and luxury

Comparing between these two places may look like such an easy thing to do, but in fact it isn’t.
Living in a city might be exiting and filled with adventure, seeing new things and experiencing new things every day, living the fast life where sleep has no meaning and everyone is competing to be the best there is. On the other hand, some people may not like all the bright lights, noise and pollution and prefer a much quieter place.
A village on the other hand, sounds perfect for raising a child and living perfectly; the green grass and blue sky to some people sounds priceless; living in a community where everyone is your neighbor and friend, living in a secure environment.
Personally speaking I prefer living in the city rather than the village.
I’m not saying that the village is not a nice place but I’m saying that to me, the city is more appropriate; I like living in a place where everything is accessible and living a personal life where your neighbor isn’t your neighbor; this might sound a little bit strange but overlooking the negative things and bad things with living in the city, I still prefer living there and see it as such a beautiful place.
In conclusion I do respect other people’s opinions and I am open minded. I can understand why people may prefer the village to the city, but still I like living in luxury and comfort so I choose the city.

How to make Orange juice

Orange juice is a very healthy and common drink. Apart from its great taste, its full of vitamin C.
Drinking orange juice in the morning with breakfast can turn into a habit which you never want to stop; you never know what makes you addicted to this healthy juice, its lemony tang taste or its natural fresh smell.
Getting this juice is not that hard nor difficult but may go through a long process ; first it is loaded in the factory after it was harvested from the farm or orchard; after that the oranges are graded carefully and washed neatly; the next step which is done to the oranges is sizing them ; after that they go through a machine which extracts the juice from the orange. The waste which mostly is the skin of the orange goes to animals as food; after that it goes through several pipes at high temperature for a short time. After that it is concentrated , then it is refrigerated so that it can be canned and shipped ; last but not least, water is added to balance the concentration of the juice.

Lost in the middle of nowhere

One day I was cruising in the Liwa desert with one of my friends, wanting to spend time and waiting for the rest of the group so we could start camping in the desert. As we were chatting and got deeper and deeper in the desert, suddenly I remembered that I didn’t fill up the car with fuel. So I turned the car and went back towards the petrol station in Liwa city. As I thought it couldn’t possibly get worse, it just did and the car totally ran out of gas. You can say we were approximately ten to twenty kilometers away, which gave us hope that we would be rescued. As the time passed, so did our patience and water.
My friend tried to climb the sand dunes to pick up a signal for the phone as there was no signal in the middle of the desert, but all our attempts to be rescued failed. We actually started to lose hope and faith of ever being found. Suddenly and out of nowhere a pickup car was heading our way. I rushed up the sand dune to tell my partner the good news. Slowly the vehicle stopped in front of us and the driver asked us if we needed any help. We told him our story as we were gasping for air; he was so kind to offer us water and a ride back to the city. When we arrived at the gas station, I called my friends and told them what happened. They came and picked us up and went to the car; after that we went straight home and cancelled the whole trip as it was too late and we weren’t in the mood. That was a scary experience but it taught both of us a lesson, making sure the car has enough fuel before going anywhere.

How to make butter

Making butter is not an easy process. It is rather long and you should be precise and accurate with the steps to assure the high standard and quality of the butter. The first step is to check the milk for quality and fat content; secondly is to leave the milk to cool, then you should separate the cream and then you should churn the cream; next you should drain the buttermilk from the butter; after that you should place the butter in a jar and then you should wash the butter with cold water to remove the remains of buttermilk. After that you ought to add some salt to give the butter some flavor and to make it more convenient to your taste. Then you should cut and wrap the butter into sticks or cubes as you like and last but not least you should store the butter in a fridge so it doesn’t get spoiled and lasts much longer.

Australia

Two years ago my elder brother and I went to Australia for the summer, where we had lots of fun and enjoyed our time.
Last year I went to Germany in the summer and Italy in the midyear vacation. It was so boring and I didn’t enjoy it as much as I expected and had in mind. Although the weather was spectacular, it wasn’t what I hoped for.
Australia was something different to me. We left Dubai International Airport and headed to Brisbane international airport. The trip was rather long; it was a direct flight and didn’t stop anywhere until we reached our destination; 14 straight hours.
The airport was very nice and comforting as was the airplane. We took a taxi from the airport to the Gold Coast. The trip took us about an hour or so to reach the hotel.
I wasn’t that amazed by the luxuries and buildings of Australia. To me that was so normal compared to Dubai hotels. I was amazed by its natural beauty and golden beaches and long green trees. I envy them.
We don’t have these things naturally due to our warm and moist weather.
I really liked Australia and enjoyed my time there. I do plan on going there again soon.

How to book a holiday:

Booking a holiday may seem like a hard thing to do, but in fact it is not.
Its very simple and entertaining. First of all, you should locate the destination of your holiday.
There are many places to go and many things to do. It mostly depends on what you are looking for and how much you are willing to spend. Most Europeans prefer to travel to warm countries and enjoy the sun. On the other hand, Arabs enjoy the cold weather and forests.
You should budget your trip and divide the money, see how much to spend for the tickets and hotel and other financial issues.
You can look on the internet for packages and special offers. You can also go direct and call a hotel and reserve it by phone.
Of course, having a credit or Visa card is a must for doing such reservations. Try not to be fooled by the pretty pictures in magazines and always ask the people who have actually tried it.
It is possible to reserve a pickup car from the airport waiting for you.
These are my tips of how to book your next trip. All these ways and methods can be done both by phone or on the internet.
Booking trips and vacations is getting easier over the years.
